Litter Shock

Concentrated Litter-Biotic

Litter Shock

Overwhelm and Out-Compete Pathogens

Huge numbers of laboratory-grown, beneficial bacteria overwhelm and out-compete pathogens that can cause disease outbreaks in your flock.

Lower Ammonia Levels

A patented blend of bacteria and enzymes efficiently composts poultry waste resulting in lower ammonia levels and a healthier growing environment for your flock’s entire growout.

Continuously Dry, Compost, Improve the Litter

Vast numbers of highly efficient composting bacteria do what they do best … continuously dry, compost, and improve your litter with each flock.

Easy and Safe To Use

Quick and easy to apply with a backpack sprayer; non-toxic and safe to apply with birds in the house; non-corrosive; can be applied 5-7 days after litter acidifiers.

A high concentration litter-biotic that "shocks" your litter back to health and boosts the benefits of IMPACT-P(NA).

Litter Shock is a liquid bacteria litter amendment that “shocks” your litter back to health. Applied at a concentration of nearly a billion bacteria per square foot, Litter Shock introduces huge populations of beneficial, highly efficient waste-degrading Bacillus bacteria to the litter. These bacteria are fully activated just before application and get to work as soon as they are applied to the litter. This provides a biological “shock treatment” that immediately begins to rebalance the microbiome in favor of the grower and the flock.

Litter Shock helps to rebalance the litter microbiome by limiting growth of disease causing bacteria, reducing ammonia, and improving overall litter quality.

Litter Shock bacteria outcompete harmful, fast growing, disease-causing bacteria like Salmonella, E. coli, Pasteurella, and Clostridium. All types of bacteria thrive on the nutrients, moisture, and heat in poultry litter. By introducing artificially high populations of activated Litter Shock bacteria, you add a highly competitive and numerically overwhelming population of beneficial bacteria to the litter. These beneficial bacteria help to out-compete disease-causing microbes for the necessities of life. Fewer nutrients for disease-causing bacteria means lower exposure to potential disease vectors for your birds.

Litter Shock bacteria are highly efficient waste degraders. Not all bacteria are good at decomposing poultry waste. The less efficient the decomposition process, the higher the production of ammonia. Litter Shock’s bacteria are specifically selected because they are highly efficient waste degraders. By conserving and stabilizing nitrogen in the litter, Litter Shock bacteria have been proven to naturally reduce ammonia levels by as much as 50% for a flock’s entire growout.

Litter Shock bacteria compost the litter in place. This composting action helps to dry out the litter and eliminate moisture that disease-causing bacteria need to grow. Naturally composting the litter in place, reducing moisture in the litter, and maintaining a healthy microbiome – dominated by beneficial bacteria – helps ensure that the litter can be safely used flock after flock, saving time and money during the resting period.

There are four typical ways to use Litter Shock:

  • Reduce ammonia levels naturally and safely: Apply at 1-lb./1,000 sq. ft. at first signs of increasing ammonia.
  • Reduce Salmonella exposure during feed withdrawal: Apply at 1-lb./1,000 sq. ft. 1-2 days before starting feed withdrawal.
  • Mitigate dermatitis outbreaks: Apply at 1-lb./1,000 sq. ft. at first signs of an outbreak.
  • Jump-start your regular IMPACT-P(NA) litter management program: Apply at 1-lb./2,000 sq. ft. 1 day before applying IMPACT-P(NA).

Always follow with the application of IMPACT-P(NA) litter-biotic 1 day after applying Litter Shock.

Soaking Litter Shock in warm water activates dormant bacteria and allows the active microbe population in the solution to increase by up to 4000% before application. Litter Shock is easily and quickly applied as a liquid solution using a spray rig. It is non-toxic and non-corrosive and can be safely applied to the litter at any time, before or after birds are placed. One ten (10) lbs. pail treats 10,000 sq.ft.

Directions:

  1. Apply Litter Shock immediately after decaking, stripping, or windrowing litter.
  2. Mix one (1) pound of Litter Shock to two (2) gallons of warm water (100°F – 120°F).
  3. Stir thoroughly and allow to sit for 24 hours. Do not allow water temperature to fall below room temperature (70° F).
  4. Add sufficient water to allow for even coverage on the floor and to moisten dry litter. Added water should be room temperature (70° F).
  5. Use a spray rig to evenly apply the solution. Apply in a u-shaped pattern starting along the edges of the house and finishing with a final pass down the middle of the house that ensures double coverage under the feeders and water lines.

Litter Shock should not be applied at the same time as acid ammonia reduction chemicals.
