Litter Shock is a liquid litter treatment that delivers a “shock treatment” of huge populations of active, beneficial bacteria. Soaking the Litter Shock in warm water activates dormant bacteria and allows the active microbe population in the solution to increase 20-40 times before application. Litter Shock is easily and quickly applied as a liquid solution using a spray rig. It is non-toxic and non-corrosive and can be safely applied to the litter at any time, before or after birds are placed.
When to use Litter Shock:
There are four typical ways to use Litter Shock:
- Reduce ammonia levels naturally and safely: Apply at 1-lb./1,000 sq. ft. at first signs of increasing ammonia.
- Reduce Salmonella exposure during feed withdrawal: Apply at 1-lb./1,000 sq. ft. 1-2 days before starting feed withdrawal.
- Mitigate dermatitis outbreaks: Apply at 1-lb./1,000 sq. ft. at first signs of an outbreak.
- Jump-start your regular IMPACT-P(NA) litter management program: Apply at 1-lb./2,000 sq. ft. 1 day before applying IMPACT-P(NA).
Always follow with the application of IMPACT-P(NA) litter-biotic 1 day after applying Litter Shock.
How to use Litter Shock:
- Mix one (1) pound of Litter Shock to two (2) gallons of warm water (100°F – 120°F).
- Stir thoroughly and allow to sit for 24 hours. Do not allow water temperature to fall below room temperature (70° F).
- Add sufficient water to allow for even coverage on the floor and to moisten dry litter. Added water should be room temperature (70° F).
- Use a spray rig to evenly apply the solution. Apply in a u-shaped pattern starting along the edges of the house and finishing with a final pass down the middle of the house that ensures double coverage under the feeders and water lines.
Litter Shock should be applied at least 7-10 days after ammonia reduction acids.
